A cromlech – a term of Welsh origin – is a megalithic monument dating between 3500 and 1000 BC, composed of menhirs arranged in a circle forming an enclosure.
The cromlech of Peyrarines on the Causse de Blandas in the Gard, France. The Causse de Blandas shelters more than 80 megalithic monuments, mainly dolmens, menhirs and cromlechs.
