The municipal casino in Nice included gaming rooms, an ice cream parlour, a restaurant, a grand hall and performance rooms. It was built between 1882 and 1884 and demolished in 1979. Many great artists performed there, notably Louis Armstrong and Django Reinhardt after the Second World War. The casino’s main competitors were the Palais de la Jetée-Promenade and its casino.
