Milan Cathedral (in Italian: Duomo di Milano), often abbreviated to ‘Duomo’, is a cathedral located in Piazza del Duomo in Milan, Italy. Dedicated to the Nativity of Mary (Santa Maria Nascente), it is the seat of the Archdiocese of Milan. Construction of the cathedral began in 1386, and it took five and a half centuries to complete, in 1932.
It is the third-largest church in the world after St Peter’s Basilica and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the organ seat in Seville.
